Rivka Cyprys is an artist based in London, currently studying at Chelsea College of Arts. Working predominantly with sculpture and ready-mades, Cyprys redefines and subverts the usage of arbitrary items. Mediums such as performance are sometimes adopted in her practice. Cyprys’ approach to fine art is highly conceptual. She is intrigued by physiological condition and philosophical state of being that align or conflict with the inhabited physical space. There are often underlying themes of inaccessibility, limited human perception, and physical and intangible space. Cyprys states “I want to explore the interchangeability of emotions and the uncanny, the metaphorical and poetic, the abstract within physical spaces, the freedom that coexists with constrictions, and the beauty within it.”
